GEC starts a new project – “Supporting the Unified  Service  Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to Strengthen its Institutional Capacity for Improved Public Service Delivery”. Within the framework of the project, on July 10, GEC team conducted a kick-off meeting with management and employees of the Ministry. At the meeting, the presentation of the project was held and an action plan was agreed.

The overall objective of the project is to support the Unified Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affair's (MIA) Patrol Police Department in strengthening its organizational capacity through series of capacity building measures for effective and inclusive delivery of human-centered public services coupled with increased accessibility of these services to Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). Within the frames of the project the main factors hindering effective implementation of the agency’s mandate - the provision of services, will be identified and analyzed. The project focuses on the enhancement of business processes and the improvement of quality management systems through the development of quality control and evaluation mechanisms.

Strengthening the Center's capacity will entail training of its staff in Customer Service and Stress Management, Quality Control and Assessment, Sign Language, Team Building, Disability Issues.

The project is supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and UK aid from the UK Government within their wider initiative to support Public Administration Reform in Georgia.
